Humain, Saudi Arabia’s newly launched artificial intelligence initiative, has named Tareq Amin as its Chief Executive Officer to drive the Kingdom’s leadership in AI and advance the development of a globally integrated digital infrastructure.
Tareq Amin, former CEO of Rakuten Symphony and ex-Head of Digital at Aramco, will spearhead Humain’s strategic vision centered on cutting-edge data centers, intelligent infrastructure, and the creation of sovereign AI models to drive Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation at both national and global levels.
The company was launched by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Public Investment Fund (PIF), but Amin was not named in the official launch statement.
The Nvidia partnership was one of the main highlights of today’s Saudi-US Investment Forum in Riyadh, which is also being attended by President Donald Trump.
Essential Infrastructure
In the release, Nvidia stated it will provide “several hundred thousand” of its most advanced GPUs to Humain to build out data centres with a projected capacity of up to 500 megawatts over the next five years.
The first phase of deployment will be one of Nvidia’s Blackwell AI supercomputers, which Humain said will provide foundational infrastructure for training and to deploy sovereign AI models at scale.
Humain added it will also deploy the Nvidia Omniverse platform, which is designed to accelerate a new era “of physical AI and robotics”, leading to the operation of physical environments by new human-AI-led solutions. The pair will also collaborate on large upskilling and training initiatives to provide thousands of citizens and developers with hands-on AI experience.
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, said AI, like electricity and internet, was essential infrastructure for every nation and its work would realise the country’s bold vision.
